Sommerkolleg – Poletna šola Corsi universitari estivi – Ljetna škola Bovec

Founded in 1994, the Summer School Bovec aims to encourage international dialogue between countries in the Alps-Adriatic region. This programme is run by the Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt and co-organized by the Universities of Ljubljana, Primorska/ Koper, Udine, Trieste and Rijeka. The venue of the Summer School is the small town Bovec, located in the Soča valley in the heart of the Three Border Region between Austria, Slovenia and Italy. This annual, two-week international meeting takes place in the second half of August. Around 55 students and professors from the universities mentioned above attend this unique Summer School every year. Participants have the opportunity to take part in a variety of lectures, workshops, presentations and language courses (Slovenian, Italian, German, Croatian, and Friulian). Field trips, excursions and visits to museums complement the experience and provide a different overriding theme for the programme.

In 2018 the Summer School Bovec received the Human Rights Award of the Region of Carinthia.
